ANASYRMA FEMMINA ALLA LUCE DEL SOLE is a research on being female narrated by the voice and experience of the vagina, which claims the most powerful gesture a woman can perform: the Anasyrma. Lifting the skirt to show the vulva and vagina is a universal act of female power and pride used individually and collectively for millennia by women. It is a gesture present from prehistory to the present day, depicted throughout the history of art. In this work, the Anasyrma performed by ten females in ten acts, writes the female history of the world, from the past to the contemporary, even imagining the future. By lifting the skirt, each woman reveals a poem that serves as the progenitor to a theoretical essay.
All those themes that touch deeply, intimately, and viscerally the female being: from the universal to the divine, from male violence to female sisterhood, from pain to love, from trauma to genocide, from genius to legacy, from pleasure to ecstasy, from sexual power to the utmost freedom and happiness, from death to resurrection, up to our victory. The aim of this research is to reform the imagery and language used to speak about the female being, femininity, and the vagina. The visual and poetic images have the precise purpose of healing, strengthening, and empowering the female autonomic nervous system.
